“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33
Seeking
first God’s kingdom means putting him as a priority first. Seeking means actively pursuing what God wants,
his will and his kingdom reigning on earth.
It means setting aside your kingdom and your desires for what is
best.
Seeking
God’s righteousness is a personal pursuit for holiness and being right with God. It’s daily working on your relationship with
God through various disciplines. While
God’s kingdom is an outward pursuit, God’s righteousness is an inward
pursuit. Seeking both these things keeps
your mind focused daily on God and his kingdom and not your selfish desires
that only cause worry.
