Is anyone
among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of
praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders
of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the
Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick
person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be
forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray
for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is
powerful and effective. James 5:14-16
Jesus
healed during his time of ministry on this earth. He came to show that God was all about
wholeness. The deterioration of our
bodies and mind begins with sin and selfish choices. “Wholeness” occurs when these bodies are free
of sin.
It
is possible to see healing as a result of prayer. It will always begin with prayer. Will everyone we pray for be healed? No.
But it’s possible.
The
only possible healing begins by asking for forgiveness and confessing our sins
to one another. It’s called spiritual
healing from sin. That is most
effective and what everyone needs.
