(Jesus said) "At
the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will
be like the angels in heaven."
Matthew 22:30
No, you won’t.
You will know your spouse and
remember what your spouse meant to you.
You may even hang around your spouse and your family.
However, technically and legally you
are not bound to that person the same way.
What about the divorced or those
that remarry after a death, are they married to more than one person in heaven? Awkward!
“Till death do you part” means death
puts an end to the obligation you have with each other.
Marriage on earth is symbolical of
our relationship with God, as found in the idea of two becoming one (Matthew 19:5). Ephesians 5 talks about submission in
marriage as we submit to God. Jesus called
himself the groom and his church the bride, saying he will come to take her to be
with him in his home forever.
Marriage teaches us how to serve, to
love others and not to be so concerned with ourselves.
In heaven, we experience what
marriage on earth had been teaching us all alone.
