Why are there so many ungodly people in the world?

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:6-8

There are three ways to look at this question.

First, maybe there isn’t as much ungodliness as we think. Bad news gets reported more often and bad people tend to be noisier than good. Maybe most people are good. . .behind the scenes.

Second, if we define ungodly as people who sin, then the world is full of ungodliness. We are all part of the problem.

Third, if we define ungodly as people who are not saved and don’t have a relationship with Christ, then yes, there are billions who are ungodly. Ungodliness is rectified when someone accepts Jesus as their savior and that only comes about when someone tells them about the Gospel.

It is for the ungodly – me and you – that Jesus came to the earth.
