How did God make the earth?

And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:9-10

When I make something, I pull out tools, nails, tape, glue and a first aid kit. When God makes something, He needs only one thing – His word.

Every account of Genesis creation begins with “Then God said, ‘Let there be. . .’” God created by speaking. God has no hands or feet or blueprints or a workbench to put it all together. God makes something out of nothing by just saying it will exist.

His word is His tool.
