Did guys in the Bible wear earrings and can men wear them today?

Aaron answered them, “Take off the gold earrings that your wives, your sons and your daughters are wearing, and bring them to me.” Exodus 32:2

So all the people took off their earrings and brought them to Aaron. Exodus 32:3 who were willing, men and women alike, came and brought gold jewelry of all kinds: brooches, earrings, rings and ornaments. They all presented their gold as a wave offering to the LORD. Exodus 35:22

So we have brought as an offering to the LORD the gold articles each of us acquired—armlets, bracelets, signet rings, earrings and necklaces—to make atonement for ourselves before the LORD.” Numbers 31:50

In the Old Testament, it appears men did wear earrings, however, it could have been an old “habit” from their Egyptian days. Taking off the jewelry may have indicated a departure from this very pagan nation and their ways. God could be saying to them, “Put those ways behind you and let’s move on.”

Wearing earrings is not a problem. Why you wear jewelry may indicate a problem. Some wear an earring to flaunt their sexuality. Some wear an earring to rebel against their parents. Some wear an earring to flaunt how much money they have.

As with most things, it’s the motivation behind an action that must be questioned.
