For seven days they celebrated with joy the Festival of Unleavened Bread, because the Lord had filled them with joy by changing the attitude of the king of Assyria so that he assisted them in the work on the house of God, the God of Israel. Ezra 6:22
It
had been 70 (plus) years since they were able to hold a Passover at the
temple. They had not been able to follow
the law of Moses exactly as it was written.
Jews today cannot hold Passover on the original temple ground (now
occupied by Muslims), even though they can celebrate around the area where the
temple stood.
