“But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’ is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.” Matthew 5:22
No murder started with kind thoughts
about a person. All murder began with mindful
hatred for another person (unless accidental).
Without the first unkind thought,
the final action would never have resulted.
Thoughts kickstart the action and anger fuels the process towards
murder. (Jesus made a similar connection
with lust and adultery).
Jesus drew the line and said murder
began with simply calling a person a “fool.”
He said it’s a sin to hate someone, not just killing someone, because
it’s all a part of the same crime.
