The husband
should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her
husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body
but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have
authority over his own body but yields it to his wife. Do not
deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you
may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will
not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. 1 Corinthians
7:3-5
Yes, but the husband has to have sex with the wife when
she wants it too.
Sex, as Paul descried it in 1 Corinthians, is a marital
duty. Both the husband and the wife must
engage in sex on a regular basis, determined by the couple. Paul feared sexual temptation could damage a
couple if deprived for too long.
A man should want to have sex when his wife wants to have
sex and vice versa. They see it as a
time to grow closer, to deepen their intimacy.
If it’s forced, then it won’t be enjoyable. So a man shouldn’t force it too often nor
should a woman deny it too often or there will be problems.
