A prophecy against Tyre:
Wail, you ships of Tarshish!
For Tyre is destroyed
and left without house or harbor.
From the land of Cyprus
word has come to them. Isaiah 23:1

Tyre was a wealthy city sitting on
the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, in modern day Lebanon. King Nebuchadnezzar put a siege around Tyre
for thirteen years. That happened around
100 years after Isaiah. However, later
in 332 BC, Alexander the Great massacred or sold into slavery around 30,000
residents of Tyre.
