Who were Jannes and Jambres?

Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone. 2 Timothy 3:8-9
The names Jannes and Jambres appear no where else in the Bible but here in 2 Timothy 3.  Jewish tradition (The Talmud) says these two men were the magicians who opposed Moses and Aaron in Egypt, using their magic with the staff-turned-snake, water to blood and frogs from earth.
Paul knew of their story from his Jewish education and referenced them in this one letter.  For more details about them, go to: https://www.gotquestions.org/Jannes-and-Jambres.html
