Husbands,
in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with
respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of
life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers. 1 Peter 3:7
The
Bible calls wives “weaker” but a better translation is really “fragile.” A husband should look at his wife as if
she’s stamped “handle with care.” No
physical manhandling. No ridicule or
putdowns. No “jokes” at her expense.
Women
want to feel loved and valued and a husband can destroy all that with a simple
tone in his voice or attack on her weak spots.
While women are physically weaker, and a husband must be her protector
and not attacker, women are also emotionally vulnerable and a husband must not
cause any cracks in her soul.
