Could God hate our holidays and worship services?

“I hate, I despise your religious festivals;
    your assemblies are a stench to me.
Even though you bring me burnt offerings and grain offerings,
    I will not accept them.
Though you bring choice fellowship offerings,
    I will have no regard for them.
Away with the noise of your songs!
    I will not listen to the music of your harps.  Amos 5:21-23
            God judges our celebrations and worship not on the extravagance or quality of production or money spent, but on the heart and the sacrifice of one’s spirit to express love to God.  He doesn’t want church services that were produced to impress, but to solely worship God and lift him higher, not an impressive resume stuffer.
            While Christmas can become commercial and communions done out of obligation, we must also examine all those times of worship in between.  Routine is the enemy of Sunday mornings.  Be warned and make sure you bring your people not just to church, but before the Lord.
