However, each one of you also
must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. Ephesians

The key is love and respect.
If a husband loves his wife—cherishing
her, valuing her, sacrificing for her—and the wife respects her husband—submitting
to him, cheering him on, valuing his role—then the needs of both the man and
the woman will be met and both will feel the strength of a true partnership.
