Wives, submit yourselves to
your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the
church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the
church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in
everything. Ephesians 5:22-24
Submission is a
willful decision to allow someone to lead.
A marriage is a partnership of two people who love each other and
(hopefully) love the Lord. However, even
in a partnership, someone has to make the final decisions.
Paul in Ephesians
stated that the woman must submit to the man and the man must submit to the
Lord. A woman will have an easier time
submitting to a man who is submitted to the Lord, humble before his God and
obedient to His word.
Both the man and
the woman submit to someone in a relationship, but ultimately all are
submitting to Lord.
