So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;

A
man’s body works within in the confines of his environment. Because we eat food, drink water and breathe
air, our body is built to exist with those elements.
God
does not need food, water or air. He
exists in a dimension beyond our limited space.
God is described as spirit.
God is spirit, and his
worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth." John 4:24
The
likeness of God means we have characteristics like God. We understand truth, justice and
freedom. We reason, plan, create,
empathize, serve and love. We live
within a past, present and future. We
desire relationship and have freewill.
In those ways, we were created like God.
