Before
Edison made the lightbulb, he understood the properties of light that
existed.
God developed the properties of
light before he created the mechanisms that illuminated that light.
The sun wasn't the only source of light at the time. God
himself is light and now he created a space in which that light could shine. The properties to see and illuminate were put into motion before those thing that were illuminated and would illuminated came into being.
