Then Laban said to Jacob, “What have you done? You’ve deceived me, and you’ve carried off my daughters like captives in war. Genesis 31:26

Jacob was certainly a smart person, very cunning when it came to relational, political and business matters. He’s not perfect, but neither were any of those before him: Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac. Deception is in our heritage.

God had to use imperfect people or He would have no one to choose from. Nobody’s perfect, right?

God never let Jacob get away with his tricks, always teaching him a lesson, such as the deceptive “death” of teh most-loved Joseph in Chapter 37. What goes around, comes around.

God shows us that he can still use imperfect people to accomplish his perfect plan. Our imperfection is no excuse to be exempt from God’s plan. God can use us too.
