What is the easiest way to be patient?

Patience comes with perspective. You must decide.  Will you see things from your perspective or God's?

Do you look at a clock and see your timing or God’s timing?   Do you see God as in control or do you see yourself in control?   Do you see people as obstacles or people God put in your path for his purpose?

There are a number of ways to be patient when faced with a stressful situation:
  • Realize you are emotional – emotions are dangerous and must be managed. We can count to ten or choose silence before words.
  • Saying less is always better – the more we talk, the more trouble we can get into.
  • Realize that people need patience with you – cut others a break because sometimes you need a break.
  • Realize that God is patient with you – God has been very patient with all of our mistakes. We should show that same patience with others.
  • Surrender to God’s clock - since God is in charge of all time, for all of eternity, he knows how to handle a few minutes, hours, days or years of your life. Take off your watch and put on God’s.
Be patient with God. Direct your frustration away from people and towards God, then, in the process, you will frustrate your frustration because you will know God doesn’t deserve your attitude.

But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life. 1 Timothy 1:16
