Why is music so effective to communicate our feelings?

One look at Psalms shows us how important music is for worship:

Psalm 138:5
May they sing of the ways of the LORD, for the glory of the LORD is great.

Psalm 144:9
I will sing a new song to you, O God; on the ten-stringed lyre I will make music to you,

Psalm 145:7
They will celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.

Psalm 146:2
I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.

Psalm 147:1
Praise the LORD. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!

Psalm 147:7
Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; make music to our God on the harp.

Psalm 149:1
Praise the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the saints.

Music communicates a heart expression. Sometimes we communicate through the written word, or stories, or dramas, or movies. . .so music is just another way to express our feelings.

Our world has tones and audible noises, some pleasing, some disturbing. When the correct assembly of the right tones fits together with the right words, we have a song that touches our hearts. God gives us that ability to express our love for Him through music.
