Is it bad to be a character in a play that worships gods?

As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father had been. 1 Kings 11:4

This is a difficult question to answer without knowing the concept of the play. King Solomon, once a faithful follower of God, worshipped other gods, but clearly understood the mistake of his ways. It wouldn’t be wrong to portray King Solomon, who clearly understood his error and repented of his sin, in a way, in the book of Ecclesiastes.

If you portray a positive character in a play that glorifies other gods, that may be a problem. You don’t want to encourage people to dabble in anything that takes them away from worshipping the one, true God.

I guess it depends on the lesson learned from the play and whether it encourages people to worship other gods.
