A party of the People of the Scripture long to make you go astray; and they make none to go astray except themselves, but they perceive not. O People of the Scripture! Why disbelieve ye in the revelations of Allah, when ye (yourselves) bear witness (to their truth)? O People of the Scripture! Why confound ye truth with falsehood and knowingly conceal the truth? And a party of the People of the Scripture say: Believe in that which hath been revealed unto those who believe at the opening of the day, and disbelieve at the end thereof, in order that they may return; And believe not save in one who followeth your religion - Say (O Muhammad): Lo! the guidance is Allah’s Guidance - that anyone is given the like of that which was given unto you or that they may argue with you in the presence of their Lord. Say (O Muhammad): Lo! the bounty is in Allah’s hand. He bestoweth it on whom He will. Allah is All-Embracing, All-Knowing. Surah 3:69-73
This verse claims:
- There is a group of Christians who want Muslims to go astray.
- The only people they are fooling are themselves, but they don’t know it.
- Christians disbelieve Allah’s revelations yet they know the truth.
- Christians confuse the truth and conceal it.
- A group of Christians say they “believe” during the day but at night don’t believe it.
- the Muslim faith (Surah 3:116)
- the Koran (Surah 3:119)
- the Apostle Muhammad (Surah 3:132)
And the Jews will not be pleased with you, nor the Christians until you follow their religion. Say: Surely Allah’s guidance, that is the (true) guidance. And if you follow their desires after the knowledge that has come to you, you shall have no guardian from Allah, nor any helper. Surah 2:120
All faiths declare exclusivity. If one claims truth, then it must proclaim counter faiths to be false. Muslims believe that Christians and Jews are wrong, while the Jews and Christians believe Muslims are wrong. It doesn’t make Islam right because Jews and Christians don’t believe in it.
Christians are not conspiring, but reaching out to Muslims, hoping they will see the truth they see. They want them to go astray, but on the right path. Christians do not believe Muhammad’s revelations, but those of Jesus Christ. They are not concealing the truth, but revealing it.
