The
articles from the temple were needed to perform the rituals in that
temple. These articles appeared as early
as the tabernacle in Exodus and since they were so important, they were made of
gold. Over and over they were either
stolen or given away to buy another nation’s protection. These articles came from the Babylonian siege
and now that they were being returned, the sacrifices could be used again in
the temple.
