they placed the written charge against him: this is jesus, the king of the jews. Matthew 27:37
Yes, Jesus was the ruler over the
Jews—their creator, God and Lord.
However, nobody wanted to give him that title. Even though the sign over his cross mocked
his title, it was true. His title as King
was not limited to only the Jews. He was
King of the Gentiles. King of the
Romans. King of the Americans
today. That title was just the beginning
because Jesus’ purpose was to come first to the Jews then to everyone else so
all would recognize him as king.
