“Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Matthew 5:48
Perfection is impossible after one
sin. We all fall short after our first choice
of disobedience. However, we can restart
and begin living a perfect life, making the best choices to not sin.
Also, Jesus died to be our
advocate. When we accept Jesus’ death on
the cross for our sins, God no longer sees our imperfection but Jesus’
perfection. That does not give us an
excuse to hide behind, so we can engage in more imperfect behavior, but gives
us hope that our imperfection will not keep us from a relationship with God.
