Does God want me to give sacrificially?

Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.” Mark 12:43-44

Two people could give $100, but for the one this is 25% of their wages and for the other it’s 1%.  The sacrifice of the 25% showed more trust and love to God.  The other probably tips a waitress more at a higher rate.  Sacrificial giving shows more trust.  Even if the second person gave $100,000, it still could be 1% of their wages.  Now the impact of the $100,000 certainly helps the church more, but the sacrifice doesn’t bless the giver more.  A poor widow experienced more joy and love than a billionaire because she gave more of herself.
