How big is a mustard seed?

It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.” Mark 4:31-32

A mustard seed is about 1 to 2 millimeters wide.  It’s a very healthy plant with lots of vitamins and minerals.  It can grow quickly to 10-12-20 feet tall.

It’s the perfect parable for faith and growth in the kingdom of God. Only a small amount of truth planted into a person’s heart will grow into something huge.
