Just as a body,
though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with
Christ. For we were
all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or
Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the
body is not made up of one part but of many. 1 Corinthians
12:12-14
Yes, you
have a role in the body in the Christ.
Paul in 1 Corinthians used an analogy of the foot looking at the hand
and thinking it was of no use because it wasn’t a hand (or an ear feeling
useless because it wasn’t an eye).
Sometimes we feel this way because we look at other people doing great
work and think we’re not any good.
But hands
need feet and ears need hands. We’re
working together.
Now you are
the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 1 Corinthians
12:27
Some
people are superstars in the kingdom of God, but that doesn’t make other people
useless. Everyone has some part in
impacting a group of people, large or small.
Some are more visible than others, but it doesn’t make them any less
useful.
