“There is no peace,” says the Lord, “for the wicked.” Isaiah 48:22
God’s
word says no, but it seems that some wicked people are very assured and
relaxed. It may appear that way, but
they aren’t experiencing true peace. Some
powerful drug cartel leaders or terrorists may have a good life of wealth and
many servants, but they are always looking over their shoulders. They may cover up their lack of peace with an
abundance of pleasure (sex, drinking, drugs) to make them feel good and hide
their fear.
The
lack of fear is true peace and only the one doing God’s will can experience
that. Peace with God, being right with
him, following his commands, is the only path to real peace.
