Why was God concerned about mold?

He must burn the fabric, the woven or knitted material of wool or linen, or any leather article that has been spoiled; because the defiling mold is persistent, the article must be burned. Leviticus 13:52
Mold is very dangerous even today for people with respiratory issues.  Mold spreads throughout a household if left untreated.  God was very concerned about the health of his people and included many rules to keep them alive.  The Israelites lived in close quarters for a long time and these practices kept them healthy for 40 years.
Also mold symbolically represented sin, an unclean spot that spreads if left untreated and will cause death.  God wanted them to think clean physically and spiritually.
