But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a
day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is
not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is
patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to
repentance. 2 Peter 3:8-9
God
is not slow. He’s patient. God doesn’t want anyone to perish. He wants them to live.
God
moves at a pace to allow for the maximum possibility of repentance and eternal
life. He knows the heart and the destiny
of everyone on the planet.
God
also lives in a dimension beyond time.
We measure life by the ticking of the clock. God is not constrained by seconds, minutes,
hours, days…centuries. We feel that
pressure. God doesn’t. It explains why he can be so patient.
God
knows the precise right time to answer prayer in a way he sees best. Our patience shows our faith and trust in
him.
