“But
the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael,
one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with
the king of Persia.” Daniel 10:13
According
to this angel, he faced some kind of resistance in the spiritual realm by
demons and needed saving by Michael, a more powerful angel.
This
statement makes us wonder how angels and demons fight, what weapons they use, what
damage can they do to each other, can they suffer pain, are they engaged in some kind of
never ending World War II, how are some angels more powerful than others, are
some demons stronger than others.
The answer
to these questions is—we don’t know. All
we know is that, yes, angels and demons do fight and they have the ability to
detain/restrict each other. The book of Jude
references a dispute between Michael and the devil over Moses’ body which means
there is resistance and conflict in the unseen world. Revelation 12 talks about the great war
between Michael and his armies.
Just
because this angelic world is invisible, doesn’t mean they are ghosts, see-through
reflections of light that your hand can pass through. This battle happens in another dimension that
we can’t see but is very real and has its own physicality.
