Does God not want us to pray for some people?

Then the Lord said to me, “Do not pray for the well-being of this people. Jeremiah 14:11
Of course He does, but in this situation, the people had crossed the point of no return in terms of God’s patience, so far gone that praying would do no good.  That doesn’t mean your stubborn uncle who won’t accept Christ is beyond help.  Keep praying.
This situation shows us that some people’s fate can’t be changed by prayer, but God had been patient with the nation of Israel for centuries until He got to the point of saying “enough is enough.”
We don’t know that point in people’s lives, so let’s just pray anyway unless God Himself tells you to stop (which is unlikely).
