These are the men David put in charge of the
music in the house of the Lord after the ark came to rest
there. They ministered with music before the
tabernacle, the tent of meeting, until Solomon built the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem. They performed their duties according to the
regulations laid down for them. 1 Chronicles
6:31-32
As a musician
himself, David understood the power of music (calming Saul after his temper
tantrums). Solomon too involved the
musicians in temple festivities. These
temple musicians were essential the worship team of temple and can you imagine
a church service without music?
Musicians have the honor of bringing us closer to the Lord through their
gifts and should be honored for doing so.
