Is there a difference in God's eye as to the size of the sin? Does He measure sin? Is the punishment the same?

There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him:
haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
a false witness who pours out lies
and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers. Proverbs 6:16-19

No. All sin is sin and equally looked upon as sin by God.  God hates all sin.

In Genesis, the first sin that kicked off a domino effect of more sin was simple fruit eating. How bad was that? In the book of Exodus, there are ten commandments listed in no particularly order – from skipping church to murdering your neighbor. Jesus speaking in Matthew 5 lists lusting in the same category as adultery.

There are things God definitely does not like, such as those listed in Proverbs 6, and he puts lying and killing in the same sentence.

There are certainly different consequences to sin. Lying to mom and dad may not get you on death row, but murder will. That doesn’t mean God gives negative 5 points per victim and negative 1 point for each lie.

Cultures magnify and minimize sins, but all sin is this – disobeying God. Everyone expresses their sin differently, but all of it is sin to God.

The punishment for Eve’s fruit eating is the same as mass murder – separation from God for eternity.
