If you don’t go to church, will you still go to heaven?

Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:25

Jesus did not belong to a church, join a Bible study and help with the youth group. In fact, there were no churches when He walked the earth, just the Jewish temple system.

Church is not required to get into heaven. Belief and faith in Jesus Christ is.

They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” Acts 16:31

However, going to church today can be an indication of where someone is in their relationship with God.
  • A believer desires to understand God’s word better
  • A believer allows himself to be accountable to others
  • A believer recognizes his spiritual gifts and uses them to help others
  • A believer has a compassion for others
Church is not a “have-to” requirement for salvation. It’s a “want-to” expression of one’s love for God.

This physical union with a church on earth is a spiritual union brought about by God’s spirit. We unite with God's people because we are united with God who is united with other believers.  Church brings together all believers in the Body of Christ, using their spiritual gifts to love, educate and encourage one another.

Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when you were called— Ephesians 4:3-6

The Spirit naturally draws those believers to one another. Heaven will be the largest “church” ever assembled. Why not get a taste of it now?
